Kabul (BNA) Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has met with German special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Presidential press office said BNA, in the meeting held on Thursday at presidential palace; both sides discussed and exchanged views on bilateral relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and Germany, peace process and regional issues.
Representing Germany’s government and people, the country’s special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan congratulated successful holding of presidential and provincial councils’ elections in Afghanistan to the president and people and considered the elections as big success for the country. In the meeting, the German special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan reiterated his country’s cooperation and assistance to Afghanistan in various sectors. President Hamid Karzai called Germany as historic friend of Afghanistan and praised that country’s cooperation and assistance to Afghanistan and its good view related to Afghanistan’s presidential elections.
