Mazar-e-Sharif (BNA) Several villages in Chamtal district of Balkh were cleared from Taliban militants last night.
Adel Shah Adel, spokesman for Balkh police chief, told BNA that several villages in Chamtal district of the province were cleared from Taliban insurgents during a joint operation by defense and security forces.
Five militants were killed and three others were wounded in the operation and some weapons were recovered.
The operation started few days ago in that district and continues until the Taliban are wiped out in other parts of the district.
