Taliban Insurgents Killed in Kandahar Battle

Kandahar (BNA) Thirty-six Taliban insurgents were killed and six others were wounded in fighting with security forces in Kandahar.

The clashes took place last night when a group of Taliban militias attacked on Arghandab district and military checkpoints in Maiwand and Panjwai districts.

The media office of Maiwand Corps in south of the country said in a news release that 36 insurgents were killed and six others were wounded in the fighting.

According to another report, two Taliban weapons depots were discovered in Kandahar.

The depots was housed in a Taliban hideout in Nish and Maiwand districts.

No one has been detained in connection of the depots.

Atal Army Corps in south of the country says that several Taliban-made mines and bombs with some explosives were found in these warehouses.

According to another report, the security forces prevented a series of explosions in Kandahar by detecting and neutralizing fourteen roadside mines.
