Taliban Intelligence Chief Killed in Takhar Operation

Takhar (BNA) Seventeen Taliban, including the Taliban intelligence chief, was killed in an airstrike last night.
Takhar police spokesman Khalil Asir told BNA local correspondent that the security forces killed 17 Taliban including the Taliban intelligence chief, and wounded four others in a targeted operation in Abdal and Kanjak Sarai Sang villages, in Taluqan.
Asir added: in this operation, a tank and a vehicle and some of their war equipment were also destroyed.
Security officials in Takhar reported that clashes between the Taliban and security and defense forces continued in the Nahr-e-Chaman area of Taluqan, saying that security and defense forces were advancing and that the Taliban had suffered heavy casualties.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
