Taliban Massive Attack on Baghlan Failed

Pul-e-Khomri (BNA) The security forces of Baghlan says a large-scale Taliban offensive in the strategic area of ​​Cheshmeh Shir in Baghlan on the Kabul-Mazar highway failed.

Fifteen insurgents, including two commanders of the group were killed and 11 others were wounded in the battle.

Hundreds of assailants reportedly attacked military bases in Cheshmeh Shir area yesterday morning.

The attack began with a bomb blast in front of a military base and continued until last night.

Senior Pamir Corps official told BNA that the air force was deployed following the Taliban attack and targeted the attackers with ground forces.

The ANA official said that 15 armed Taliban, including Qari Shoaib and Rumi Shamshad, were killed and 11 others were wounded in the fighting.

Cheshmeh Shir is always a witness to the battle between security forces and the armed Taliban.

This area is located on the Kabul-Mazar highway, and the attackers often target passenger and commercial caravans from there, disrupting the traffic flow.
