Taliban Rocket Attack Targeted Participants in Holy Quran Competition

Kunar (BNA) Taliban rocket targeted participants in a Holy Quran competition in Kunar.
Sixteen people, including 13 students of Islamic sciences, were wounded in the incident.
According to reports, a competition for the recitation of the Holy Quran was taking place at the Kunar provincial building in Assadabad when a rocket hit the area.
Mohammad Iqbal Saeed, the governor of Kunar told BNA that 16 people, including 13 students from religious schools, were wounded in the rocket attack.
He blamed the Taliban for the rocket attack and said the rocket had been fired from a mountain range in the Marwara district near the Durand Line in Asadabad.
However, doctors at the Kunar Central Hospital in Asadabad reported that the health condition of the four injured was critical.
