Taliban Suffered Casualties in Faryab

Maimana (BNA) Twenty-seven armed Taliban, including their military chief Qari Shoaib, were killed in Faryab last night.

Spokesman for 209th Shaheen Corps told BNA that more than 2,000 Taliban from four strongholds attacked on security posts and defense lines in Maimana, in which 27 of them, including Qari Shoaib, the Taliban’s chief of staff, and a Pakistani national named Zakir were killed and sixteen others were wounded by security forces.

The source added that the other members of the group fled the area after a long conflict.

No casualties inflected to security forces in the attack.
