The President Asked To Shift Provincial Capital To Central Baghlan

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with a number of elders and influential of Baghlan province in Arg here the other day, a statement from the presidential palace said.
In the meeting, ministerial advisor Eng. Wahidullah Sabawoon, Asadullah Shahbaz, Eng. Zalmai Zaheer, Mir Sulaiman Yaqubi and Atiqullah Ehsanzoy on behalf of the others enumerated a number of their problems to the president, asking to shift the provincial capital from Pul-e-Khumri to central Baghlan and further tighten the security and pay attention to the economic situation in the province. The elders and influential also stated that enough buildings and lands are available in central Baghlan for the government institutions as well as the extending of the master plan and implementing of infrastructural projects. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani after hearing the problems and suggestions by the provincial elders, instructed Minister of Interior and head of the Administration for the Local Governance to review the obstacles ahead of shifting the capital from Pul-e-Khumri to central Baghlan through sending a delegation in the coming days. The president also tasked the delegation to review the general situation in the province in particular the education and higher education status in the province and submit a final report to the presidential palace. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Interior, Minister of Higher Education, Mohammad Alam Rasikh ministerial advisor, acting head of the local governance organ and Ministry of Education’s deputy minister on general education.
