Kabul (BNA) Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi foreign minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan talked with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu foreign minister of Turkish on a telephone call.
According to BAN, The Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, that during the telephone call, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation, humanitarian aid and the resumption of consular services.
According to newsletter released by Foreign Ministry, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi thanked the 750 tons Turkish humanitarian aids while its first shipment arrived in Herat through the port of Turgundi two days ago, and called for continued humanitarian cooperation with the Afghanistan’s people.
The Turkish Foreign Minister assured that the Turkish government will continue its cooperation with the Afghan people. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that the Turkish government intends to provide another 500-700 tons of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan. He added that the aid will be transferred to Afghanistan by the end of this month and to be distributed to the needy through the Red Crescent and other charitable organizations.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that the process of issuing Turkish visas in Kabul will be resumed. He said that in March of this year, the services of the Turkish Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif will begin.
It is worth mentioning that the consular services and the process of issuing Turkish visas in Afghanistan have been suspended for several months now. Earlier, the acting foreign minister said that Afghan businessmen, students and patients were having difficulty obtaining Turkish’s visa and that the services of the Turkish consulate needed to be resumed.
