UNFPA Promises Serious Efforts to Reach Venerable People in Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Political Minister and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mirwais Nab, met with Aleksandar Bodiroza, Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Afghanistan on Thursday afternoon, a MoFA statement said yesterday.

At the outset, Minster Nab thanked the United Nations Population Fund for its cooperation in Afghanistan and congratulated Bodiroza on his inauguration as the new representative for Afghanistan, and assured him of the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bodiroza expressed his satisfaction with the start of his work, presented his credentials as a representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Afghanistan to Minister Nab, and explained the programs and projects of the United Nations Population Fund in Afghanistan, promising that considering his work experiences in various countries, would make serious and comprehensive efforts in consultation with the relevant institutions of Afghanistan to serve the vulnerable people of this country, especially women and youth, according to the statement.

During the meeting, both sides discussed UNFPA operations in Afghanistan, including the provision of necessary health facilities and services to women, cooperation in youth education, support for vulnerable families, and equal rights for women.
