Work on Shah and Arous Dam Will Begin Soon

Kabul (BNA) Engineer Mujibur Rehman Omar, Deputy Minister of Water at the Ministry of Energy and Water, said during a visit to the Shah and Arous Dam project that the remaining work on the dam would begin soon.
According to information from the Ministry of Energy and Water to BNA, during the visit, which was also attended by Habib-ur-Rehman Haqpal, director general of the Kabul Maritime Basin, and a number of ministry technical officials, the deputy minister of water and energy noted that the remaining work on the Shah and Arous dams would begin soon.
He gave the necessary guidance to the technical officials of the ministry and emphasized on speeding up the work process of this project.
It should be said that with the completion of the Shah and Arous Dam project, 3,500 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated and 1.2 MW of electricity will be generated.
The Deputy Minister of Water and Energy also inaugurated a canal cleaning project, which includes work for food program, launched by the Ministry of Energy and Water, in the small village of Shakardara district in Kabul.
