Air and Ground Raids Leaves 26 Rebels Dead in Kandahar

Kabul (BNA) As many as 26 anti-government were killed during latest air and ground attacks carried out by Afghan security forces in southern Kandahar province last night.

The raids conducted by Afghan security personnel, while a Taliban fighters had plan to launch attacks on security shells in Spin Boldak, Panjwayee and Arghandab districts of the province.

Senior commander of Atal army corps in the south of the country told BNA reporter, 26 armed oppositions were killed during the assaults.

Taliban said nothing about the incident so far.

According to another report, Afghan security personnel by discovering and confiscating 30 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several deadly incidents in crowded areas of Kandahar province.

No one was arrested accused of the mine plantings so far.
