VP Danesh Inaugurates ‘Justice’ Good Governance and Sustainable Development’ Seminar

Kabul (BNA) A seminar on justice, good governance and sustainable development was inaugurated by the speck of Second Vice-President, Sarwar Danesh, his office said the other day. According to the statement the seminar, which was organized the Attorney General Office (AGO) was attended by CE, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Justice, Mohammad Yousuf Halim, high-ranking officials from the chamber of commerce and industries and representatives from Afghanistan private sector, diplomats and representatives from the international institutes here in Kabul. The Vice-President said: “Governments have the responsibility of implementing the main targets of the sustainable development, but the role of traders, industrialists and producers is vital to help get access the targets.” He said the domestic investors and producers, by strengthening craft and productions the ground for work and accessibility to welfare would be provided for all and that the executive measure should be laid at the priority of the justice and judicial organs. “Elements like war and insecurity, bureaucracy and administrative ups and downs, administrative corruption, intense rules and non-operational and lack of needed facilities for the investors, were the main obstacles before the economic growth and investments in the country,” said Danesh adding this was the main policy of the government of national unity to remove the challenges and encourage the investors in the country. But, he pointed out to the problems faced by the private sector as saying lack of access to lasting power energy, high plot princes and lack of supportive tariffs were the main challenges before them. He said the government was fully committed to provide the ground for the growth and wide activity of the private sector further than ever, through firm battle against corruption, creation of transparency in the procurements and in the open bidding….establishment of a new-planned administration “Asan Khedmat” or easy service in Afghanistan, the statement quoted. He suggested for a special team work from both the government and the private sector to investigate their problems in the fields of rules, justice and judicial and security organs and present their written suggestions to the government to be made decision about, according to the statement. The private sectors’ authorized representatives are available in the high economic council and the ministries of finance, economy, commerce, telecommunication and other stakeholder organs should have constructive consultation with the private sectors representatives, said Danesh. CE, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah also vowed that the government was alongside the people and society and was committed to ensure their security.
