Kabul (BNA) Chairman of Senate Fazal Hadi Muslimyar in meeting with interior minister Gen. Ghulam Mujtaba Patang here yesterday exchanged views on the security of highways in the country, press office of Senate said.
In the meeting, according to the source, the senate chairman said the people of eastern provinces especially the people of Nangarhar expressed concern over security problems and calling for deployment security checkpoints on the highways.
He also noted that criminal activities including kidnapping, murdering and robbery in police uniform has increased and just recently a religious scholar of Nangarhar was murdered.
The senate chairman also stated that the residents of Khogyani district are unhappy over killing two people and arresting another during American forces operation recently and demanding the immediate release of the arrested man.
