MoI Saves 4 Billion Afs, Official

Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Interior has said that it had saved up to four billion Afghanis, as the ministry restored appropriate reforms and infrastructural changes since, Massoud Andarabi took the office as an acting minister.
Minister of Interior, Massoud Andarabi told a press conference that the ministry has saved four billion Afghanis and ammunition costing up to 21 million Afghanis this outgoing year, despite police fought more than last years.
Police have become more skilled after being trained more this year comparing last years, he said at the news conference.
Precaution measures are being used against crimes, using technology increased and counter-corruption efforts were escalated and most importantly police have become apolitical in higher extent, said the acting minister.
Work on the four-year police program including corrective actions, training, capability increase and the way to influence laws and other areas was underway, according to him.
The assertions come amid growing criticism and complaints about the way of restoring reforms in the ministry as well as the police deal in Kabul and other provinces.
The authorities of the ministry of interior also called people cooperation with police one of the fundamental steps in insuring security and overcoming crimes in the country.
But some military experts urge for urgent step taken for addressing the available challenges, as execution of reform programs were time-consuming.
"Structural changes always needed further time and I think work should be done in two fields of immediate address to the existing challenges and structural reforms that could bring basic changes in bringing long-term security in the country," Atiqullah Amarkhil, a military expert said.
He said if the security institutions, particularly the ministry of interior want basic changes, they should work on the professionalization of police forces.
The expert also said the security organs should have close coordination with each other as he believed the move would help control the wars on one hand, and on the other, prevent casualties.
Also, the country's political leaders must have a consensus about war and peace and should have commitment in accordance to the public believe, as if peace by the government of Afghanistan reach success, it can lay impact in prevention of enemy attack and victory of the security forces.
