Kabul (BNA) Undoubtedly, communications and technology play vital role in human life and making use of the modern technology is a big facility for human.
Based on development of information technology and telecommunications, today the world has changed to a small village, and fortunately Afghanistan is also part of this village and trying to develop and extend the new technology and telecommunication system to each corner of the country. Telecommunication system, one of most significant systems and social networks, is used for communication and relations among the people. Recently, Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology has stepped up regular programs and invested to further develop telecommunication in the country. Telecommunication utensils were not existed long years ago in Afghanistan, but today we witness that the country has developed social networks and achievements.
In Afghanistan, which is a mountainous country and covered with mountains, the government and other telecommunication companies are trying to extend the system to rural areas in particular mountainous areas so that the people can have access to telecommunication and help ANDSF in maintaining security. Telecommunications, social networks and internet services have not that much developed in Afghanistan comparing to other countries of the world, but the country has much developed in this sector during the past 15 years, which is unprecedented.
It is worth mentioning that there are still numerous problems and shortcomings facing telecommunications and internet services sector in the country as remote areas and insecurity considered as big obstacles and problems towards development of the respective sector. Meanwhile, internets services which are currently the most significant social and communication system among the people are fortunately provided by all telecommunication companies in the country, but the people are still complaining of low speed of the internet as the companies deliver 3G to countrymen. Recently, Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology has reported that telecommunication companies would soon introduce 4G internet services in the country where most of the current problems in the services would be soon solved. On the other hand, optical fiber services considered as a big step towards internet sector and according to ministry of telecommunication and information technology, both telecommunication companies and countrymen can make use of the opportunity and solve their problems in internet sector.
