Kabul (BNA) Hekmat Khalil Karzai, the deputy political affairs of the foreign ministry met with newly appointed US ambassador, his office said in a statement Tuesday.
Both sides according to the statement, discussed the second meeting of Kabul Process, which is expected to be attended by representatives from 25 countries and held in Kabul, next month, to focus on peace, counterterrorism.
The statement also said that the ambassador expressed his country’s continued support to the peace process between the government of Afghanistan and armed oppositions and both sides spoke about the effectiveness of the US strategy about South Asian region in war on terror.
The US ambassador assured of his country’s full support to the processes under the Afghan leadership, including Kabul Process and Afghan-owned and Afghan-lead peace process.
