Angiza Shinwari Succumbs To Injuries In Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Angiza Shinwari, the provincial council member for Nangarhar province who was seriously injured in an earlier explosion that left one killed and four injured, succumbed to injuries in Sar Dar Mohammad Dawoud Khan hospital in Kabul on Monday.
Shinwari was injured in a blast in Jalalabad City, the capital of Nangarhar, last Tuesday when a bomb that was placed inside her vehicle exploded and killed her driver and injured four other schoolchildren.
Shinwari 33 was the resident of Shinwari district of Nangarhar province. She was active civil society activist and journalist before she elected to the provincial council. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah on Monday expressed their grief and sorrow over the demise of a female Nangarhar provincial council member.
The Presidential Palace issued a statement saying the president was saddened by Shinwari’s death and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. The Presidential Palace said Shinwari had served as a representative of Islamic Sciences and was an active supporter of women’s rights. She wrote poems, worked as journalist and had been serving her community as their representative in the Nangarhar provincial council, the statement added.
The president further added that Afghans would not forget the services Shinwari had contributed to her people and she would be regarded as a brave woman in Afghan women’s history.
Chief Executive has also condoled her death as a great loss, saying that Shinwari was a true servant Afghan that has dedicated most of her life in helping her people and country.
“I offer my condolences and sympathies to the family, relatives and friends of Shinwari and ask Allah’s forgiveness for him and patience for his bereaved family.” The statement added.
Dr. Abdullha has also instructed security organ to find the perpetrators.
