President Ghani Meets with US Peace Institute Delegation

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with officials of US Institute of Peace at the presidential palace yesterday. According to BNA report, in the meeting, both sides discussed related to activities and programs of the respective institute in paving peace and institutionalization of democracy in Afghanistan. Officials of the respective institute said they wanted to have the vision of Afghanistan President and government in connection with peace and what the government was following practical way to reach it. At the US Institute of Peace for its programs in Afghanistan, President Ghani spoke related to plan and programs of Afghanistan government towards maintaining honorable and lasting peace in the country.
President also by briefing them the seven-article peace plans made by Afghanistan government for maintaining honorable and lasting peace in the country said the plan was aimed to strengthen government capacities and seek ways for reintegration of Taliban and to work on priorities that could reduce tensions and disputes in districts levels. The country’s President while stressing on strengthening governance said they would further work on assessment and finding causes of war in Afghanistan and the issue of republic and citizen was the most principal issues for them until peace changed to reality. Both sides also discussed continued causes of disputes in particular the imposed war of the Taliban on the people of Afghanistan in the country.
