CE, Russia’s Energy Ministry Official Discuss Enhanced Economic Cooperation

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met Yuri Sintierin, Deputy to Energy Ministry of Russian Federation here the other day and exchanged views on matters relating mutual interests including economic cooperation, the work of joint economic commissions of the two governments, besides stressing for enhancing economic relations.
“Afghan government is hopeful to boost trade and economic cooperation with Russia”, the chief executive said, adding expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, transport and transit is important for boosting cooperation and demanded easing visa issuance to the Afghan businessmen.
Speaking in the meeting, the Russian dignitary lauded holding the third meeting of the joint economic commissions of the two government here in Kabul and said that Russian businessmen are ready to invest in Afghanistan if the condition for investment is facilitated.
“Russia is ready to export electricity to Afghanistan in cheaper price, besides sharing its experiences with Afghan side”, the Russian official said.
