Kabul (BNA) An academic and research seminar was held yesterday by Academy of Sciences on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of deceased Abdul Rauf Benawa.
At the beginning of the seminar, a message of Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was read out by Soraya Popal, Dean of academy of sciences.
The message said, “Ustad Benawa was not only poet and writer but also researcher, historian and a political and social figure, so such aspects of his personality also need for researching. Our researchers are needed to extendedly research related to his thoughts, varieties and national and social dimensions of his artifacts.” The message while praising academy of sciences for holding the seminar asked knowledgeable figures to enlighten wishes and desires which Benawa had for his country and people.
Meanwhile, Dean of academy of sciences briefed the seminar related to various dimensions of Ustad Benawa’s personality and achievements said, “Benawa, having Dari and Pashto poems, had high position in Pashto writings.”
During the seminar, message of ministry of borders and tribes was read out by the ministry’s head for public relations Abdul Wahid Khawari, while message of Ustad Burhanuddin Rabbani’s Education University was read out by Jameela Sarwari.
In the seminar, a number of knowledgeable, social and academic figures and researchers delivered their researches and articles related to various dimensions of Ustad Benawa’s life, artifacts, achievements and national sentiment.
