Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chairing the meeting of the urban development high council said police should provide full cooperation with the municipality to prevent usurpation of land, Bakhtar News Agency reported Tuesday.
According to the agency, the meeting focusing on the Khost standard urban development plan directed head of lands administration for providing cooperation in settlement of land disputes and allowed the Khost municipality to use the state lands in development of the city.
The president also directed the Independent Local Organs for considering extra budget for the municipalities to help pave the way for positive competition and said that Khost City had proper spaces to be used industrial townships.
In Sheberghan province, urban development plan was ordered to be expanded and that initiatives of the municipalities should be discussed with each other, as the president pointed to the two main peculiarities of the province; women active role in urban development plan and that the city was planned area under municipality works.
Issues related to the vendors, their transferring to specific areas and cleaning the city from garbage and rubbishes were discussed in the meeting, with the president saying the issue should be discussed with the private sector, people and the vendors and the plan to be tentatively applied in one place and when proved positive, it should be implemented in other sites, in order not to harm the vendors.
