MoPH Presents Report On 6-Month Achievements

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firozuddin Feroz in a conference yesterday presented the achievements of the ministry for public health over the past six months.
Over the past six months, 14 hospitals in center and four other in provinces have been equipped and reconstructed, the minister said.
He also added diagnosis centers have been established in Indira Gandhi Child Health Hospital, Ata Turk Hospital, besides beginning the work for 200-bed hospital in Parwan, Nuristan, 1000-bed regional hospital in Jalalabad, 20-bed hospital in Torghundi of Herat, 50-bed hospital for treatment of drug addicts in Farah, equipping and renovation of five laboratories in provinces and construction of hemodialysis centers for kidney treatment in Kabul and some provinces.
Expressing dissatisfaction over poor quality of medication and medicines, the minister said that his ministry has done a lot to overcome the challenges.
Calling for improving health sector especially in the private sector, the ministry said the ministry for public health encourages private sector to invest in public health but want it to be standardized and provide qualified services.
Presently heart operation is done in Herat and Kabul health centers, while six months ago was impossible, the minister said.
Dr. Firoz, however, paid tribute to the martyrs of Kunduz and said that 65 health centers with the support of public health ministry had served some 600 injured people there in Kunduz.
