18th Martyrdom Anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari Observed

Kabul (BNA) The 18th Martyrdom anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari was observed here with the participation of thousands of people from all walks of life yesterday, the press office of Presidential Palace said.
A message of President Hamid Karzai was also read in the gathering by Mustafa Jawad an advisor to president.
In his message the president said that late Mazari believed in the unity of nation and fighting oppression and injustice in society.
The first vice president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim in his message lauded the late Shahid Mazari as good symbol for the Afghans, saying the late Mazari sacrificed his life for freedom of the country.
The second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili in his address expressed his condolence in the gathering and also thanked the elders from Mohmand, Shinwari and other trips for their attendance in the martyrdom anniversary.
He also said that late Mazari had fought for the unity of nation and ensuring justice in society.
In part of his address, the second vice president noted that peace is the national need, saying the government would do its best to achieve the viable peace in the country.
He also condemned the killing of Shiites and Hazaras in Pakistan to honestly fight against terrorists.
Speaking at the gathering the senate chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar called on all political parties and groups to work for peace and ensuring justice in the country.
Other officials including advisor minister Nimatullah Shahrani also spoke on the occasion.
