Supporting Private Sector Govt’s Responsibility: Dr. Abdullah

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah chaired Council of Ministers’ Economic Committee here at the Sapidar Palace yesterday. According to BAN report, the meeting which was also attended by CE first deputy Eng. Mohammad Khan, at the outset, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock briefed the session on overall situation of agriculture, farmers, wheat cultivation and India’s donation of 75 thousand tons of wheat to Afghanistan. Meanwhile the Ministry of Economy reported about achieving of 13 indexes out of 19 ones in first six months of the year. Later the session with Dr. Abdullah on the chair instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to reduce waste of wheat to its minimum level and provide the opportunity to private sector to play role in this regard. The Chief Executive also said supporting and encouraging of the private sectors was government main responsibility. The session also discussed import of illegal vehicles and decided that a meeting to be held with participation of government and chamber of commerce and industry’s representatives to address the issue.  The session also instructed the Ministry of Finance to help those suffered financial losses in Watan Furniture market fire incident.
