President Ghani Meets Helmand School Teachers

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his visit to Helmand met Sunday with a number of school teachers and university lecturers in the province.
In the meeting, Helmand University chancellor Mohammad Soor Gul and provincial director of education Mohmmad Daud Shah Safari by briefing related to education and higher education situation in the province recalled of achievements and developments in various sectors in the province.
They enumerated their suggestions such as approving budget for Helmand teaching hospital, development of the university, counter corruption in education sector, balance in salaries of teachers, books and stationeries, lack of laboratory and development of Boost Hospital.
After hearing their demands and suggestions, President Ghani while praying for the soul of Helmand recent martyrs said that their common will was strong and Helmand security and stability would be maintained.
The country’s President added that senior advisor to President on infrastructures Dr. Mohammad Hamayoun Qayoumi has been instructed to fundamentally assess infrastructural problems of all universities and take necessary steps to address them.
“Education is the fundamental base of training today and future’s generations and no interferences are acceptable in this sector,” and President Ghani, adding that budget for construction of 6,000 schools have been approved and the process would soon expand to Helmand.
The country’s President instructed governor of Helmand to prevent from any powerful figures interfering in education affairs or university or seek help from central government as interference in this sector not tolerable.
