President Ghani Specifies Timeline For Work of Selection Committee

Kabul (BNA) Presided over by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the preliminary session for preparation of holding the upcoming elections was held in presidential palace yesterday.
In the session, the country’s president praised participants in the session for completion of the first phase of the elections law (approving stages of the elections law) and said that the session aimed at codifying and preparing roadmap for free and fair elections.
Meanwhile, President Ghani specified the date for starting work of the selection committee in order to select members of electoral commissions. In the session, general director of administrative affairs for presidential palace Abdul Salam Rahimi said letter  have been sent to five institutions having membership of the committee, adding that structure of the selection committee would be soon completed. He asserted that secretariat has been created for the committee and a proper location has been also considered for holding the committee’s sessions. In the session, minister of Justice Abdul Basir Anwar said that the elections law would be officially issued during the current week.
