Sweden To Provide $1billion Aid For Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) In his meeting with the Swedish Ambassador, Andres Shoberg, Second Deputy to Chief Executive, Hajji Mohammad Mohaqiq discussed some key issues the other day, BNA reported. According to the agency, he thanked the Swedish government for its long cooperation in the last 15 years, both sides discussed key issues including, peace talks, elections and the Afghan refugees’ situation in Europe, but Mohaqiq expressed concern over their harsh condition in the European countries, according to the agency.
He said Afghanistan is willing to deal with the European countries on the refugees issues based on the international convention and the MoU signed between the two countries, the agency further said.
The Swedish Ambassador assured the Second CE Deputy for his country’s continued cooperation as saying his county would provide some $1billion for Afghanistan in the next 10 years, but said the Sweden would deal with the refugees under the international convention and the two countries signed contracts, but considering its domestic laws, according to the agency. The Swedish ambassador also expressed regret over what he blamed as growing kidnapping in the recent one year, mostly among the Hazara tribes in Afghanistan.
