“Representing Regional Countries, Afghanistan Is In Fighting Terrorism Frontline,” VP Danesh

Kabul (BNA) Iranian head of cultural and Islamic relations organization, Iranian ambassador in Kabul and a number of that country’s different universities’ heads, Kabul University dean Hamidullah Farouqi and a number of its lecturers met second vice president Sarwar Danesh, during which both sides discussed expansion of bilateral scientific and cultural relations, BNA reported on Saturday.
Expressing glad over efforts being made by Kabul university in-charges and Iranian cultural and Islamic relations organization to develop scientific and cultural relations, VP Danesh said fortunately, political and economic challenges could never affect expansion of scientific and cultural relations between the two countries, BNA added.
Pointing at relations between the two sides, particularly in terms of scientific and culture, deputy head of Iranian cultural and Islamic relations organization said that scientific and cultural exchanges, holding book exhibitions and seminars as well as scientific and cultural conferences were among the points that could enhance scientific and cultural relations between us.
Stating that presented image of Afghanistan in abroad doesn’t match with current truths in the country, VP Danesh said, “Extremism and fundamentalism are the challenges for the region and representing other regional countries, Afghanistan is in frontline of war on terror.”
He stressed that fighting terrorism needs common effort of regional countries, clarifying that in consider with historical background of Afghan people on scientific and cultural issues as well as commonalities between Afghanistan and Iran would further pave the ground for bolstering scientific and cultural relations between the two sides.
Calling expansion of mutual cooperation in terms of scientific and culture, one of the ways of fighting terrorism, head of the mentioned Iranian organization assured of his country’s continued cooperation on bolstering scientific and cultural relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Kabul University dean Hamidullah Farouqi said that since three years, negotiation process has been stated to tighten cultural relations between the two countries and it would be further strengthened by holding ‘Sophism and Mysticism Seminar’ and a book exhibition which is due to be held today in Kabul University. Likewise, Iranian ambassador in Kabul Mohammad Reza Bahrami also appreciated efforts being made by Kabul university dean and in-charges on starting cultural talks between the two countries.
