Kabul (BNA) 6th June is marked as World Environment Day throughout the world, But observing this day in Afghanistan hauling a different image as the country had faced three consecutive decades of war and civil uncertainties.
Lasting years of war massively affected our living environment and the people of Afghanistan are facing major threats from the environmental pollution.
Marking World Environment Day provides us a golden opportunity to expand public awareness and to seek new solution ways to overcome on the issue.
Industrial and technological development and unjustifiable human behavior with nature has strengthened environmental problems and has emerged global concerns, because environmental issue threatening human being worldwide.
In Afghanistan, consecutive years of drought, illegal cutting of trees and forests has created major dangers to living environment.
Preservation of healthy environment lies on joint cooperation of all social foundations including government and non governmental institutions to work collectively for achieving a better living environment, triumph of national environment protection directorate should be appreciated that has focused on such an pivotal topic by marking this day in shape of this gathering.
Alongside national directorate of environment protection, all citizens are obliged to contribute in this respect with consideration of law of environment protection and combat against the challenges threatening human living atmosphere.
