President Karzai Meets Women Provincial Peace Committee Members

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met with the members of 25 provincial peace committees at the Presidential Palace.
During the meeting the president appreciated the efforts of the women within the peace committees and assured them that Afghanistan is moving towards a better future.
He noted that women are the first victims of war in Afghanistan, adding that the miseries of our homeland involves outside interests and we as human being retain the right to lead honorable and peaceful life.
Wazhma Ferough, Bibi Haji Jamila Yusufi and Mahbuba Sadat talked on behalf of others.
Providing information about the three-day women peace conference initiated by the research institute of peace and security, Wazhma said that women from 25 provincial peace committees had taken part at this conference and the main aim of it was to familiarize the women with the national dialogue for reaching peace and reconciliation.
Bibi Jamila Yusufi talking on behalf of Kandahar peace committee calling on the role of women in peace restoration said that every woman can prevent their friends form illegal acts.
Meanwhile Mahbuba Sadat called participation of women in peace process as vital and asked for increasing of women members at the provincial peace committees.
She also emphasized on the strengthening of meddling and negotiations of women at the peace committees, upgrading women skills, development of the rural women and promoting their further participation in social issues.
