Kabul (BNA) Zulmay Khalilzad the US foreign ministry special envoy for Afghanistan has said that America delivered every effort for a comprehensive peace in Afghanistan.
BNA political analyst writes, Sahel Shaheen the political spokesman of Taliban’s political office in Qatar recently wrote in his tweeter page has talked about the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and pointed out that America has committed to Taliban not to interfere in domestic affairs of Afghanistan.
The statements of Sahel Shaheen have caused the reaction of Zulmay Khalilzad the special envoy of US foreign ministry in Afghanistan.
So far Khalilzad has carried out six rounds of negotiations with Taliban and preparing for the seven rounds of talks has clearly said that for American reaching a comprehensive peace is important.
He insisted that until there is no consensus on four basic things there would be no agreement on other issues.
According to Khalilzad the four basic things are included guaranteeing not to use the Afghanistan’s soil against other countries particularly US. Opportunity should be provided for inter- Afghan dialogues, withdrawal of American forces and enforcing a persistent ceasefire.
From, the statements carried out boy Taliban’s spokesman become clear that the group has just one demand that is the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan. While for America and its allies in Europe and other countries withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan is not a priority but there military presence related to other issues not settled yet.
Ensuring a comprehensive peace is not possible only via consensus with Taliban but participation of Afghan government in such agreement is necessary. Therefore, Taliban before demanding the withdrawal of foreign forces it would be better to seek a comprehensive peace and it would possible only when inter talks with Afghan government and for confidence building at first insuring ceasefire would be necessary.
While Taliban beside their political efforts have speed up their military movements are seeking to increase their influence area that cause only acceleration of war a badly affect the atmosphere of confidence.
Until Taliban not agree on holding a comprehensive agreement, dealing with other issues would be in vein.
Taliban should know that the Afghan problem has no way of military solution, the baseless efforts for bringing a province or a region under contour is a proof for that.
The Afghan people say that foreign countries involved in Afghan conflict, each have their own interests, each straggle for achieving their own interests which cause the continuation of the conflict and increase the concerns of Afghan suffering people.
The military presence of America and other countries in Afghanistan is based on UN Security Council’s decision and they have come to Afghanistan for carrying a mission and performing their responsibility, therefore their withdrawal should be done according to their responsibilities and that depends on ensuring comprehensive peace in the country, a peace that should be guaranteed by neighboring countries and big powers.
