Kabul (BNA) A delegation of US senators called on president Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai in Arg yesterday. Presidential press office said BNA, in the meeting which was also attended by first vice president General Abdul Rashid Dustom and second vice president Sarwar Danish as well as Ahmad Zia Massoud matters relating boosting cooperation between the two countries, improving economic situation and strengthening security came under discussion.
American senators said that since the national unity government had raised the ray of hopes, they came here to announce their support to the new administration. Welcoming the senators, president Ahmadzai said that Afghanistan and world community are facing common threats and overcoming the threats requires taking serious steps.
Ensuring reliable security for Afghanistan is very important, president Ahmadzai said, adding that is why the government is working to chalk out a security strategy and needs cooperation in this field.
The president also stated that for improving its economic situation Afghanistan needs to find markets and in this regard needs international cooperation.
