Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has appointed Dr. Najibullah Khwaja Umari as acting higher education minister following the resignation of Abdul Latif Roshan.
In line with a Presidential Order based on Article 64, clause 13 of the Constitution Prof. Dr. Najibullah Khawja Umari has been approved as acting minister of Higher Education.
In a separate Presidential Order, the president tasked the Parliamentary Affairs Minister with introduction Umari to the Wolesi Jirga for a vote of confidence.
Earlier, former acting Higher Education Minister Roshan resigned, citing personal and political reasons.
