KABUL (BNA) US foreign secretary of state recently visited Kabul and in his visit with the leaders of unity government and media members once again committed to the continuation of his country’s assistances to Afghanistan, called the peace negotiation process hopeful.
BNA political analyst commenting on the issue writes US foreign secretary of state Johan Kerry visited Kabul. The incentive of the visit of this US high-ranking official was taking part in third meeting of bilateral commission, Warsaw, and Brussels sessions, holding talks with Afghan authorities on US and Afghanistan security agreement implementation in practice, which had signed in the early working days of unity government. Counter terrorism campaign was another topic of the discussion between the two sides. Mr. Kerry during his stay in Kabul expressing hope for restoring peace to Afghanistan asked Taliban desist violence and join peace process. He once again assured the quadripartite group’s support from peace negotiations and remembered the foundation of elections reforms in Afghanistan. The US foreign secretary of state’s statements come in a time; Afghanistan considers US its pivotal partner and expects further bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Although, the statements by Mr. Kerry welcomed in Kabul, but the Afghan people expect much more from the country that claims the leadership of counter – terrorism campaign international coalition and considers Afghanistan as its true and close ally in fight against terrorism that threat not only the region but the whole world. At the first step, this issue is deserve of discussion that Afghanistan and US signing an agreement have formed the prospect of their relations and with signing security cooperation agreement further strengthen their relations. US in framework of the agreements have committed certain commitments to Afghan people and government. One of the commitments is supporting Afghanistan against any foreign invasion and in fight against terrorism. Unfortunately, foreign interventions continue as before and terrorism taking the lives of Afghan innocent people including women and children. Therefore, Afghans honestly claim that they have not used the privileges of the strategic security agreement as it expected. Meanwhile, US is a member of quadripartite session that should design and prepare the road map for peace in Afghanistan but its last session aiming starting peace negotiations as soon as possible was sabotaged, that can harm the prestige of US as an effective country in world issues and member of quadripartite session.
Beside this, equipping and funding Afghan security, forces have been committed in strategic security cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and America has not realized properly. Lack of heavy weapons and shortages in Afghan air force still exist. The problems that should be settle with international community particularly US cooperation. The incidents of the last years especially what happened after the establishment of unity government revealed a series of problems that the international community and USA should focus on. Afghans are suffering from grave problems such as foreign interventions, importing terrorists and extremists in to their country, lack of international community intention on Afghan issues and finally economic problems are all problems should be settle by international community as it committed, or at least provide the opportunity for Afghans to take effective measures to settle the problems. Today terrorists and extremists are recruiting, funding, training, and equipping in Pakistan and send to Afghanistan for killing and destructions. Foreign interventions badly affected the life and destiny of Afghan people. Since, the reason behind the problems of our country is clear, the meaningful silence of international community doubles our sufferings and agonies. The Afghan people wish and expect the allied countries to help in reducing the problems. The leaders of the unity government earlier to signing the security cooperation agreement with the Americans were under the pressure of circles inside the country but due to the confidence, they had to international community and US signed the document. Now, the Afghans expect to use the privileges of document and could become a means for ceasing foreign interventions and guarantee peace and stability in Afghanistan.
