Officials To Face Law If Fail To Register Properties

Tuesday November 8, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The high authority on overseeing war on corruption reports that the process of registration of senior authorities’ properties is going on but many officials who have not registered their properties would be introduced to legal, judicial branches.
This authority emphasizes that if the properties of senior authorities be registered annually, it would be useful in war on corruption. For this reason they have started serious work in this issue. Although this process has been going on since five years, but it has not been clear that these properties were investigated every year or were they questioned that from where they have received them. But the Afghan government emphasizes that if this process be continued and implemented hundred percent, it would decrease the level of corruption.
The anti-corruption authority reiterates that 1700 people whose names are with this authority should register their properties otherwise they would be introduced to legal, judicial bodies. Eleven provincial governors plus large number of political leaders and senior government authorities have not registered their properties yet. It has been said that this process has symbolic importance and aspect. Because it should have direct impacts in war on corruption and should not let the level of corruption to be increased.
At the moment Afghanistan is among the top list of the most corrupt nations. If the Afghan government really wants to prevent corruption, first it should restore peace and security and beside that pave the way for justice, as san justice it cannot restore stability. All those societies who are distant from justice, are at close quarters with many problems including corruption, lack of rule of law, poppy cultivation etc. The Afghan leader has time and again declared that if he loses his life on prevention of corruption, he would not give up but continue. Why the level of corruption has not decreased, one reason behind it is insecurity while the second reason is low level of global trust to the Afghan government. In fact if the world community channel all its assistance through the Afghan government it would probably be void of corruption because the government would be accountable and all the NGOs and organizations who make contracts, would leave Afghanistan upon completion of contracts and go to other countries which is immunity from project mentoring. The legal, judicial center aimed at war on corruption has been established recently that its main goal was investigation of senior authorizes cases but so far it has not produced clear outcome that how many people have been accused on corruption and sentenced by third court. This is a process that requires enough time. But in Afghanistan for warning of people and attracting of public trust, the cases of few people should have been finalized.
The AGO said that the first trail of accused persons is expected to be held next Saturday and the trial would be started from a case of an attorney to show that there is firm intention in war on terror and the accused persons would not be allowed to rescue themselves. During the Brussels conference, the Afghan government had promised the world community to take strong steps in war on corruption and would present reliable evident to world people. Many countries of the world said that war on corruption would increase global trust to the Afghan government. This would cause Afghanistan to be at the focus of attention of the world. Corruption has caused Afghanistan enemies to take advantage and irrigate their rain fed lands through it. Many mines and underground resources are extracted by powerful people and enemies of the country illegally and sold to foreigners at slight price, this corruption strongly damages our rich resources.
