COVID-19: Afghanistan’s Death Toll Crosses 1000 on Sunday

Kabul (BNA) The official death count for coronavirus in Afghanistan crossed 1,000 number on Sunday.
According to the Public Health Ministry, 16 new deaths were registered over the past 24 hours to push the country’s total to 1,010.
The ministry also said that the number of infection cases rose to 34,451. In the last 24 hours, a total of 85 cases were registered out of 378 samples tested.
A total of 81 people recovered from the disease over the period, pushing total recoveries to 21,216.
As of Sunday, over 79,700 tests have been conducted in Afghanistan which has an estimated population of 33 million.
