Kabul (BNA) The Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) has been upgraded to have 24 hours news cast, this was stated by Sayeeda Mojgan Mostafavi the deputy on publication with the ministry for information and culture said in meeting with the staff and employees of the directorate for information and culture of Herat here yesterday.
She also said the ministry for information and culture would bolster and support the entities belonged to the ministry in provinces. Welcoming the presence of deputy on publication in Herat, the directorate of information and cultural affairs of Herat province, Aria Raufian, appraised the official about the problems of the employees of the information and culture directorate in Herat, besides demanding budget for repairing historical monuments, supporting public library and construction of new libraries in the province to promote the culture of reading among youths. Mojgan Mostafavi, according to another report held meeting with media officials and journalists of Herat here yesterday and said that commission to ensure access on information would be formed in Herat province. Freedom of expression has been institutionalized in the country, she said. Briefing journalists on the formation of consultative board, drafting ethic manual, commission to check violence against journalists and reviewing the law on mass media, she pointed out that the operation of unlicensed media outlets would be stopped. The Ministry for Information and Culture strongly supports press freedom in the country, Mostafavi said.
