President Ghani Hands Over Five Historical Relics to National Museum

Kabul (BNA) In a meeting attended by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, First Lady Rula Ghani, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi and national museum director Mohammad Fahim Rahimi, five historical relics were handed over to President, BNA reported. During the meeting, the national museum director said the relics were included one sword related to Shah Amanullah Khan period, one hand-decorated female wallet related to 19 century, two coins and one banknote related to the then Indo-Britain Company and one Britain Knife. Later Safiullah Pacha and Habib-ul-Rahman Noori handed the relics to President Mohamamd Ashraf Ghani. Thanking for the relics, the President instructed the officials in-charge to appreciate the works of Safiullah Pacha and Habib-ul-Rahman. While handing the relics to national museum, President Ghani instructed ministry of information and culture and the national museum to do their best in preservation of the cultural heritages. The President said two floors of Dar-ul-Aman Palace to be allocated for the national museum and the third floor for official ceremonies. Hinting to Amani period, the President said the country’s ancestors protected their beloved homeland with their bloods and swords, adding using of the banknotes were made common by King Amanullah Khan for the first time.
