Lashkargah (BNA) In the latest fighting in Helmand, the Taliban have suffered heavy casualties.
These battles took place last night following the attacks of the Taliban in two parts including Lashkargah city, and continued until yesterday morning.
Following these attacks, the security forces launched an operation with the help of the Air Force.
A senior Special Operations Corps official told BNA that in the recent fighting in Helmand, 34 insurgents, including Mullah Zia-ul-Haq, known as the commander, were killed and 17 others wounded.
The senior military official says counter-terrorism operations have intensified to clear missing parts of Helmand.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
