Minister Zuhair Chairs ‘National Tourism Board’ Meeting, Introduces New Director

Kabul (BNA)   The second meeting of the National Tourism Board was held here yesterday with Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, Acting Minister of Information and Culture on the chair here yesterday and introduced newly appointed director of tourism to the staffs and board members, Bakhtar Information Agency reported.

The Acting Minister first spoke and hinted at the draft tourism law, noting that the previous law was passed several decades ago and does not meet the needs and requirements of the current situation.

Minister Zuhair, as quoted by the agency added: “If we want to develop the tourism industry, we must first adjust the law regulating the affairs of tourism in the country, considering the current situation, so that to help implement development programs in this field.”

The Acting Minister stressed the need to speed up the process of finalizing the draft of the new law on regulating tourism affairs.

Meanwhile, the board members discussed the draft law regulating tourism affairs and decided to share their viewpoints within a week.

At the end of the meeting, the acting minister of information and culture accompanied by deputy minister of tourism, the board members and a number of ministry’s officials introduced Murtaza Azizi as the newly appointed director of tourism.

Emphasizing on the development of the tourism industry in the country, the acting minister said that the Ministry of Information and Culture has extensive plans for the comprehensive development of the tourism industry in the country.

He wished success to the new director of Tourism in order to realize these plans and to further improve the affairs.
